LONDON, 08 July 2025 - SmartestEnergy, a renewable energy company helping businesses navigate the energy transition, has selected Ardoq as its Enterprise Architecture (EA) platform of choice. Operating worldwide across the UK, Australia and US, SmartestEnergy is investing in scalable technology solutions that support its mission to deliver cost optimisation, compliance, data management, and better outcomes for its customers.

How SmartestEnergy uses technology to deliver its mission

The energy sector presents businesses with an overwhelming volume of information, but managing this data to make informed decisions is often a challenge. SmartestEnergy is committed to helping businesses navigate the complex energy landscape with confidence and clarity. By leveraging large volumes of renewable generation and consumption data, SmartestEnergy can better balance and manage its portfolio while engaging customers in revenue opportunities, particularly during periods of market volatility.

Ardoq and EA help SmartestEnergy achieve its goals

SmartestEnergy takes a “Town Plan” approach to achieving its goals using EA. Just as a town reviews its policies, plans, and services to benefit its citizens, the energy company reviews every aspect of its operations, including applications, data, and technology, to ensure every decision contributes to breaking down silos and advancing strategic goals.

Through this architecture-led approach, SmartestEnergy enables near real-time asset management, helping customers detect anomalies and optimise generation and battery storage, ultimately maximising revenue. EA also plays a central role in shaping AI access and governance, ensuring use cases are aligned with strategic business needs.

While the current implementation has focused on streamlining operations in the UK, SmartestEnergy plans to adopt the same approach in the US and Australia, and into new adjacent markets across Europe, continuing to support businesses on their individual energy journey.

“At SmartestEnergy, we help businesses navigate the energy transition with confidence and clarity, and collaborating with Ardoq on a tailored enterprise architecture is helping us achieve just that," says Henrik Magnusson, Head of Architecture at SmartestEnergy. "EA is the backbone of our tech stack and supports our mission as a people-powered business. We use it to create innovative and bespoke solutions for our customers, providing timely insights that ensure they remain alert to changing energy market dynamics, and enabling our employees to work smartly.”

Brian Zeman, Chief Revenue Officer for Ardoq, said: “We are delighted to have SmartestEnergy as a customer and celebrate the success they’ve had so far in mapping their IT landscape and making this data accessible to stakeholders across the business. We look forward to helping them reach their business goals and empowering them in their mission as a people-powered green energy company.”
